Upon completion of this course, learners will be better prepared to use any type of ladder, set up and inspect ladders, and know the appropriate safety procedures for use.  Students will also be trained on what to do proactively to eliminate potential risks in the workplace and how to properly follow all safety procedures. Upon completion of the final exam, students will be issued a printable certificate as proof of training. A plastic wallet card may also be ordered.

After completion of this course, you should be able to understand:

Course Outline

1.Hazard Identification

Lesson 1 covers the most common hazards seen while using a ladder, from sliding and stability issues to electrocution, as well as how to avoid these hazards.

2.Selecting Ladders

Lesson 2 shows you the different types of ladders, how the ladder rating system works, and the proper situation to use each style.

3.Inspecting Ladders

Lesson 3 gives you the proper system for general ladder inspection, as well as individual information on each type of ladder and proper disposal of damaged equipment.

4.Setting Up Ladders

Lesson 4 teaches you to take all aspects of your environment into consideration and how to properly set up each ladder style wherever needed.

5.Safely Using Ladders

Lesson 5 will show you how to safely use each style of ladder indoors or outdoors in any environment, and how to tell when each style should be used.

6.Fall Protection Equipment For Ladders

Lesson 6 overviews the proper PPE to use with each ladder style. From Footwear to climbing harnesses, you will know how to set yourself up for safe ladder use.

7.Maintenance & Handling Ladders

Lesson 7 provides you with the knowledge and skills needed to properly maintain any type of ladder, and how to properly store and transport ladders safely.
